The Arc of Essex County is a non-profit organization that provides services and programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
Our corporate office is located in Livingston, NJ and we have programs throughout Essex County.

Summary:
The Activities Supervisor is responsible for the research, development, scheduling, and implementation of a wide array of program activities designed to meet the needs of participants.
Activities may be community or center based.
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Adult Day Services.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Research community based and center-based activities that meet the needs, interests, and goals/objectives identified by participants' ISPs Develop activity structure to meet a wide array of participant needs ensuring smooth integration into the regular program schedule Ensure that all activities are creative, innovative, meaningful, and align with the interests of participants Develop curriculum for successful implementation for each activity Identify and secure community locations to put in place relevant activities Develop relationships with community entities for the provision of activities Identify and prepare supplies needed prior to activity Train staff on activity implementation Provide supervision of activity functions Attend all scheduled staff meetings Maintain a professional relationship with families, support coordinators, case managers, guardians, community organizations, contract providers, and other interested persons When assigned, provide back-up and support to the Program Manager under the supervision of the Assistant Director Able to work evenings or weekend hours when needed Periodically work at other locations as assigned Perform other duties as assigned Education / Work Experience / Skills:
BA or BS in Special Education, Recreation Management, or Psychology preferred 1 year of management or leadership with individuals with developmental/ intellectual disabilities 2 years of experience with program development with IEP/ISP Requirements:
Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Job Type:
