a search firm specializing in the Solid State lighting industry. We have positions at all levels with Architectural, commercial, Industrial, Residential, and Solid State Lighting devices, modules, Systems, lamp, and ballast manufacturers.
Our client is a world class European architectural decorative lighting fixture manufacturer with a fast growing North American Product pipeline who is seeking an individual contributor to spearhead companies growth into agency/specification/furniture showroom channel and to assume the role of:
VP of Sales - Must have director/VP level experience with Commercial/Architectural lighting manufacturer.
This position is responsible for supervising an outside sales force made up of a network of Sales Agencies throughout North America. The goal of our sales force is to promote and sell our products through architects, lighting designers, interior designers, lighting distributors, and retail stores.
Essential Job Functions:

Identify and implement improved sales strategies and tactics to speed the sales cycle and the presence in architect's projects and specifications
Collaborate with sales representatives on account bids, RFP's, and contract quotations.
Travel with Sales Reps to client sites to present products
Develop sales forecasts and work with sales team to ensure targets are met
Develop and deliver new-agency and ongoing training materials for sales team.
Build and maintain strong business relationships with sales teams.

Capable of interfacing effectively with clients
Ability to work cooperatively with other individuals at all levels
Strong analytical thought and problem solving skills
Must be self motivated and able to work with little direct supervision
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
When not travelling the candidates must work in our Fairfield, NJ office

Education, Experience, and Certification:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
7 to 15 years experience in a sales operations and/or sales management in an established lighting manufacturer or distributor is required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
